  3.     The Mother Goose Game has been developed with the goal of
  4. stimulating children's skills in reading, memory, and in the use of
  5. the computer keyboard.  The child reads a rhyme, supplies the word
  6. that is missing, and then enters that word via the keyboard.  I have
  7. tried to place these activities in a colorful and interesting
  8. environment while leaving the emphasis on the activity rather than
  9. on the environment.  The program requires that you have a CGA or
  10. better video adaptor.

  12.     To start the game simply enter "goose" at the prompt.  The game
  13. is self explanatory and may be exited at any time by pressing the
  14. escape key.  The option is given to choose a level of play.  Level 1
  15. limits itself to 25 questions concerning only well known Mother
  16. Goose rhymes and level 2 draws from all 80 questions that are
  17. available and includes some lesser known rhymes.  Preschool children
  18. will enjoy the game but will require the help of an older person to
  19. read the clues and spell the answers.

  21.     I am a professional child care worker who began writing
  22. programs in response to a need for learning tools.  This need is not
  23. being addressed appropriately by the commercial distributors.
  24. Mother Goose is being distributed as shareware, a concept that
  25. allows free trial of the product and then asks that if you continue
  26. to use it you "register" by sending a fee to the author.  The fee
  27. for registration of the "Mother Goose Game" is $8.  For this fee you
  28. will receive a disk that contains the latest version of the game.
  29. This frees you of the reminder screen that appears each time the
  30. game is exited.  I welcome any comments or suggestions that you may
  31. have.
